20 Weeks Pregnant Update
Follow Trina’s Pregnancy: Week 20
Baby is a: Mango
Weight gained: 3 lb
Total Weight gained: 14 lbs
20 Weeks Pregnant Symptoms: A bump. If I wear a shirt that is fitted, I most definitely have a bump. Other than that, I have to pee.
Cravings: Orange juice and lemon-flavored seltzer. I guess I’m really into citrus this week.
Aversions: No aversions.
Sleep: Going well. I need a lot of it, but I don’t have insomnia which kicked in during my last pregnancy somewhere during the second trimester.
Excited for: The 20 week ultrasound. We haven’t had an ultrasound since around 8 weeks. I remember when we did the 20 week ultrasound with L and I was so amazed at how big she got. It is truly amazing that you get to see your baby before they are born.
Missing: Wine. I don’t drink it often but I do like to have a glass every once in a while. I think I will really start to miss it when summer hits. Nothing better than to sit outside with a glass of wine in the evening.
Movement: Baby is definitely moving and I am starting to feel it more throughout the day. When I get a kick and am also holding L, it reminds me that I am holding both of my babies. I then start to think about what it will be like to be a mom of 2 and get nervous and excited.
Dr. Update: No appointments this week. Our ultrasound is next week 😊
Stretch Marks: No
Labor Signs: No
Wedding Rings On: Yes
Belly Button In or Out: In
How I’m Preparing: My pregnancy splint from Tummy Team is in the mail. I am excited to try it out. This week I focused on searching maternity, birth, and newborn photography. I made the mistake with L to not research this and put it off to the last moment. Don’t do this. Newborn photography must be done in the first 2 weeks because that is when baby will still curl up in a tiny ball like you see in all the pictures. The photographer we picked also didn’t include all the digitals in her package. Make sure to get the digitals in your package. If you don’t, the only thing you paid for was the “photo” shoot. You then either must pay to get the photos printed by the photographer or pay individually for the digital rights of every photo, which is so expensive. If you spend some time searching and calling around, I promise you will find an awesome photographer who gives you the digital rights from the photo sessions. I love having these photos on my computer to include in scrapbooks, print to hang up, email out to family to be able to print. Trust me, it isn’t worth your money if you don’t get the digitals. If after the photo session, you also want prints or a canvas etc., you can go through the photographer or because you have the digitals, you can go through photo websites like Shutterfly etc.

Best Moment of the Week: I teach on a university campus and one of my students asked me after class if I was pregnant. When I said yes, she told me she was so surprised because I looked so young. Pregnancy and gaining weight can sometimes make you feel not so pretty. Add in already having a toddler who has aged me so much! It was really nice to get a complement from someone who I could tell was being genuinely honest.
